Abalone (Pāua) Handle - 12C27 Stainless Steel

The MAKO is our flagship fillet knife — designed for fishos who handle big and tougher species. This knife is sharp, precise, and stiff, sitting right in the sweet spot between a boning knife and a traditional fillet knife.

We named it MAKO for a reason. Like the shark, it’s fast, aggressive, and built to tear through fish and bone with control. It excels at breaking down bigger fish, riding bones cleanly, and making confident cuts without flex or chatter.

The blade is crafted from Sandvik 12C27 stainless steel, a proven performer in wet and saltwater environments. With its fine grain structure and excellent corrosion resistance, it takes a razor-sharp edge and keeps it ideal for serious fishing and food prep.

Each knife is finished by hand in our Anna Bay workshop, Australia.

The handle is made from genuine abalone (pāua) shell sourced from New Zealand, hand shaped, hand sanded, and carefully buffed to a crystal-clear finish. Every handle is finished individually, giving each knife its own natural colour movement and depth.
