HOW WE MAKE KNIVES
MADE BY HAND. MADE TO LAST.
We heat treat our blades in a laboratory environment to get the most out of each steel, and run cryo treatments on the steels that benefit from it. It's not the fastest way to do things, but it's the right way to get the best performance. All of our handles are handmade using unique materials like Deer Antler, Abalone Shell, Aussie hardwoods and more.
We are a passionate team of 4 knife makers working out of our Anna Bay workshop crafting small limited batches of knives each week. We all love fishing and hunting and are best mates.

Honestly, I still can't get my head around it. When we started Iron Gate out of a tiny shed, we just wanted to build knives we'd be proud to own ourselves. We never expected the messages, the photos of our knives, the reviews. Every single one means the world to us. Watching this thing grow to a whole community of people who back what we do has been the most humbling part of the whole journey. So from me and the team, thank you. Truly. We wouldn't be here without you, and we don't take a second of it for granted.

The Mako Fillet/Boning knife is perfect combination of OZ hardwood past truestone onto antler for a handle and it fits like a glove. This will be the first go to for the cleaning table. The antler is not only aesthetically appealing it is also functional as it grips well when dealing with fish and their slime. The steel is just the right stiffness to make for easy cleaning and the shape and proportions are going to be very handy for nearly all target species. This kit will make cleaning the catch a pleasure not a chore. Thanks

What a ripper of a knife lads
What a ripper of a knife lads. Work of art. I think the engraving could be done to stand out more as it is a little difficult to see with the finish on the blade but otherwise the design and its overall look is great. I’ll buy another design soon thank you
