New to the drop. These are the first tomahawks we have put in a Thursday drop.
Carbon steel. This is not a stainless blade. Wipe it dry after use and give it a coat of wax before it goes away, and it will build a patina and last a lifetime.
The Tomahawk is a camp axe: a bearded head on a slim, shaped handle, made for kindling, clearing and the chopping jobs around camp that a knife should not be doing.
The head is 80CrV2 carbon steel with a textured finish across the flats. The edge sweeps down into a hooked beard, which leaves room to choke up behind the head for finer work. 80CrV2 is a tough carbon steel, well suited to chopping, and it sharpens up quick.
The handle is stabilised dark birch burl from head to butt, with a brass and white TruStone spacer stack through the middle and a brass-lined lanyard hole at the butt. Deep brown burl figure the full length, cut with a bright band of brass and pale stone.

Look after it✔
Iron Gate Knife & Handle Wax — feeds the timber so the handle will not dry out or crack, and leaves a moisture barrier on the steel. Wipe on, buff off, every few months or after any wet trip.
✔
Guided Field Sharpener — stone and strop in one pocket unit, for touching up the edge at camp.
