The Elmax Hunter is where our best materials meet our best steel. Built around Böhler Elmax — a powder metallurgy stainless that holds a razor edge longer than anything else in our lineup while shrugging off corrosion. If you want a knife that stays sharp through a full breakdown without babying the blade, this is it.

The handle pairs stabilised figured Tasmanian Blackwood with a natural abalone (pāua) inlay — dense Australian timber with a flash of shell that catches the light without being overdone. Every piece is hand-shaped and sanded to a smooth, confident grip.

This is a full-size Hunter profile — designed for skinning, dressing, and camp work. Balanced to sit naturally in the hand, ground thin enough to work precisely, and tough enough that you don't think twice about what you put it through.

Keeping Your Edge

A quick strop before each use keeps your blade at its best. For a full sharpen, use a whetstone at the factory angle or send it back to us for free resharpening under the Iron Gate Lifetime Guarantee.

General Care

Wipe the blade dry after use. Apply mineral oil or handle wax to the handle every few months. Store in the included Kydex sheath.
